TOEFL Sentence Ordering — “I think it’s X that causes Y”
Correct sentence:
👉 I think it’s the old paper tray that causes the problem.
🔹 RULE (Very Important for TOEFL)
This is a cleft sentence used to emphasize the cause or focus.
Structure:
I think + it’s + emphasized noun phrase + that + verb + rest
-
“It’s” is required (not that first)

“that” introduces the cause/result clause

Word order is fixed in TOEFL ordering questions
